TOP TEN FOR STANAWAY IN SOCHI GP2 QUALIFYING

#23 Richie Stanaway “My first qualifying run in the wet was pretty decent and I came in quickest. I felt the car balance wasn’t quite what I needed so we made an adjustment during the stop.  The change took more time than anticipated and meant I could only get one lap on the new tyres as the end of the session. In hindsight maybe I should have dealt with the car as it was and prioritised running time on track as the conditions were changing and it ultimately cost us position.
“Considering we didn’t get a run on the new tyres at the end and I know there is heaps more time in the car I’m happy that we’re in the mix and I know we can have a decent weekend from eighth.”

#22 Marlon Stockinger “ It was obviously difficult to get a rhythm today being a rookie on a track I don’t know and having varying conditions between practice and qualifying, but I think we made good progress. The wet qualifying was going pretty well and I was running around the top ten but I had a moment at turn one, running wide on my best lap and dropping to 16^th. I like the track and I know I will get better and better as the weekend goes on. It’s not a bad qualifying position for tomorrow and I think we can secure some points from here.”
